Painting is just another way of keeping a diary. ~Pablo Picasso
Painting to me is like music: It has a beginning a dramatic part and a calm ending. And a lot of feeling and emotion! I am aware of this during the painting process and try to capture a special moment, person or place. I like to be spontaneous with my subjects and brushwork and keep a fresh feeling with smooth movement and color in my work.
I am naturally quiet so my voice comes through my brush and paint to speak to people. My heart and soul is on my canvas. When I paint I feel I've bared my soul and hung it on a wall.
Currently, I am challenging my artistic ability by working on figurative paintings to capture certain people, special moments or memories I've had. I continue to paint daily and take workshops and paint plein air.
Born in Alberta, I currently reside in Colorado with my husband , 4 children and several dogs.

Hey Janice M..... Thanks for the comment on my photo "Yellow Door." Then tell me.....what do you like about this shot? I always learn about my work when others share what they see. Also, perhaps just a fluke, but one of my sister's name is Janice M and she lives in Denver! Third, that red pair of Teckies you painted.....I have a friend (Babalwa) who owns a pair of "Rooi Teckies" (Afrikaans/South African for red tennis shoes) like the ones you painted!
