About Irina:

I am a Russian born artist who traveled a lot and finally found home in New Zealand.
In my art I use realistic recognizable objects presented in a romantic and dreamy way trying to reflect eternal, timeless qualities of nature. I see the world in a beautiful and misterious way and want to share my vision with others.
I am a self taught artist and developed my abilities through careful observation and practice. I take a lot of photographs and always research my subjects before bringing them to canvas.
My favourite media is acrylic, I find it beautiful, modern, flexible and full of
potentials yet to be discovered.
All my life I have been fascinated by colour and light. I believe that every color goes with every other colour and that subject is not too important, any object will do as long as it serves the basis for my colour and light applications. My favourite colour is red and I try to use it wherever possible.

The country I live in is incredibly beautiful, however it lacks sunshine. I am trying to compensate for it using strong vibrant colors in my paintings.

Over last few yeras I won several art awards, had 4 solo exhibitions and particirated in numerous group exhebitions and art shows.
