Thanks dear friend , You are right, the originalart works are quite different from what we see it in the books or the Internet !! I visited and I saw alot of van Gogh's original ( great works) in Museums and exhibitions in different States in the world !! I'm very impressed with this genius and unique artist as a wonderful man full of sense and feelings and in the same time full of suffering and poverty ....Etc.! I have a lot of information about him during the research to my masters, and because I'm fan of Gogh so chose him for the theoretical part of my art masters 1988 in Berlin.

Dear Ed. Thank your for your true words. Sadly my english is terrible but I exact feel the sense. For me reality is experiences, perceptions and consciousness. Therefor it is acutely necessary to keep the metabolism not only of art in permanent movement.(I hope this is english)In this sence I not only try to be an artist, I try to be an agens, a catalyzer. Friendly greetings Stacho

I'm hoping one day people will actually start buying artwork online. But for now, it's just fun being part of this new art community. It's good that we take the time to support each other as we strive to achieve success. A kind word can go a long way.

About Ed Rowles:

I started out drawing doodles when I was on night duty in the Navy. Showing them to my friends and seeing their positive reaction encouraged me. I wanted to make more, make them bigger, make them better. I needed to learn how to paint with oils. So, while stationed in Scotland, I studied the fine art of oil painting with Naomi Hunt.

After the Navy, I tried to make it as an artist. For a few years I happily cranked out surreal pop and hard edge paintings living in a small loft apartment with my lovely wife, five cats and a baby. Then it dawned on me that the GI Bill would pay me to attend college. I could make more money going to school than I could painting. I quit painting and studied art and multimedia production and ended up producing large multimedia events for big business.

As a commercial artist I enjoy creating computer graphic art for web sites and multimedia presentations for special events. My creative skills are graphic design, special effects, computer graphics, 3D computer modeling, animation, drawing, painting and logo design. I produce media for large corporate events, new product introduction, sales meetings, conventions and the internet. Over the years, I've created commercial art and multimedia presentations for the Worlds Fair, National Geographic and many of America's top corporations and associations.

I'm trying to transition from the commercial world back to creating my own personal images. I have only been doing this for a few years now, and as you can see I have a lot to learn.

Today, most of my work is ultimately produced on the computer. However, pretty much everything I do starts out as a sketch. I scan the drawing and use it as a guide to work over on the computer using a pen and graphics tablet to create an image.

Who or what inspires me?

So many things inspire me, I don't know where to start, but here are a just a few that spring to mind: vintage space comic books like "Weird Science", '50s sci-fi movies, the amazing "Dan Dare Pilot of the Future" comics by the English artist Frank Hampson, all of Chesley Bonestell space art, The pop art of Frank Stella (Black Adder) James Rosenquest F-111 1965 , and Tom Wesselmann 1972, the surreal pop art of Todd Schorr.
