I'm self-taught too! I started drawing at age five with regular pencils, lots of unicorns and dragons, lots of fantasy stuff. Even motorcycles. I can relate to you. But the medium you use, biro, what exactly is that? It looks to me like upgraded pencil, do you draw with it or use a brush? Or is it like airbrushing? Whatever, anyway, you've mastered it.

yes there are a few pentagrams nestled amongst my older works but I used to add those purely for aesthetic effect, I feel it helped to add a dark atmosphere to the work.

About Darkscent:

I am 25, I have been drawing from a very early age, I am self taught, for the last few years I have been experimenting with ballpoint pen (or biro as its also known), I want to see how far I can push it as a medium, It requires great patience & a really slight touch to create a texture that is smooth & subtle.

I am currently experimenting with different styles & mediums, I have many ideas for pictures that I simply cant achieve with a ballpoint.

I would describe my work as aesthetic poetry, a strange elegance, dark & enchanting.............. ... .. . at least that's what I'm aiming for anyway lol, I'll get there one day.

the works you see here are kind of ballpoint pen experiments & the results of me trying to find a style that truly hits the spot! so naturally some of the results work out better than others but I decided to put them all up anyway.

I love to hear what people think of my work I feel it helps me evolve as an artist & it will give me a better idea of what styles I should concentrate on so if you see one of my works & think that section or idea does'nt really work, let me know! I try to embrace criticism rather than deny it,
