Most of my paintings are of the boreal landscape and shoreline here in Placentia Bay, Newfoundland. And I love birds. Although I am mostly untrained I have drawn, painted, carved and sculpted since a very young age.I have 3 years formal education in jewelry arts and design where I learned how to use watercolour and goache, which is what most of my work is,but recently I've been experimenting with oils.My paintings are usually quite small. Unless commissioned I rarely finish a piece, so therefore I only have a few examples that are presentable...I tend to start a lot more than I can finish. The life-size birds are from pine and the smaller ones are birch for toughness and lack of much visible grain. The claws are hand-built from copper and mounted on very carefully selected driftwood. Other than that I might decide to make almost anything from machinery to musical instruments.Almost all my work is created from high quality "found" materials. I like too many artists to mention .Anyone interested in my work is more than welcome to comment or contact me here.
