You are receiving this 21st century artist’s transmission live with black font text. In 1993 I began a multi-media journey. Initially my goal was to become an image-maker and story teller. I never asked myself why and acted upon destiny’s calling. Young and naïve I believed achieving artistic freedom would be easy, with that being said many obstacles proved me wrong, and inspired me to triumph and continue the preservation of creativity for future generations and modern society to enjoy and learn from. I started the quest documenting life, in the beginning it was frame by frame with the most important details always sharply focused. I honed my skills rapidly and my passion to create continued as I enrolled into a community college. Not being challenged my grades became an issue and I was put on scholastic probation and then forced to withdraw. I understood after reviewing my grades that it was not the art classes I was failing, instead it was the basics. Realizing I was wasting my time on the small things in life I moved from Texas to Seattle and enrolled into the Art Institute of Seattle’s Commercial Photography program. I have to admit the 1st few months of adjusting to this incredible lifestyle landed me quickly in the middle of my 1st quarter with all the film I could carry and Top Ramen any freshman should legally be allowed to eat. I spent all my money on film and processing with the belief that one day my biggest dreams would come true. As time went on my grades improved significantly and my goals of becoming a professional photographer began to be more in sight for me. While working a full-time job and going to school full time I ran out of time and money… I had to stop going to school one quarter before I would have graduated. A little disappointed I quit my sales job at Time Life Books And Music and took another job at a camera store and began selling cameras. One of my clients had a gallery and propositioned me to sell my art. The gallery was called Image Quest. I began to feel that I was not going anywhere in Seattle fast enough so I decided to move to Los Angeles California. This is where most of my passion for art really began to flourish and I began to realize that I was an independent artist. As I began to shoot images professionally I was transitioned into the film industry where my talents began to shine that much more…I ended up working at Warner Brothers Studios some years later, became injured, had to go to physical therapy everyday and this is where my Artist’s journey changed paths yet again. Life has given me another chance to further myself as a man and contributor to society.
I feel extremely blessed after staring adversity in the face many times and saying I am not giving up or in, fortunately I am mature enough to realize that cooperation yields bigger dividends than trying to fly solo on everything. I am looking for allies who are committed to success.
Thanks for extending your minds to mine
