About 4u4ia:

Born January 10th, 1974, in Los Angeles.

Jody is a native Southern Californian, who was raised in Los Angeles as a child and spent most of his life in a rural area of Orange County. Influenced by his mother, who is also an artist, Jody developed a passion for the arts. As a child, became fascinated with one of his grandfather's art pieces hanging on his walls, setting the stage for the future artist.

Finding it hard to focus in school because of dyslexia, he resorted to daydreaming and doodling on notebook paper. His sketches became the basis for many future pieces. Attending Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo right after high school. While at school, he discovered two artists that would change his life, Salvador Dali & Arshile Gorky. He found out that the art piece he loved so much on his grandfather's wall was a Dali limited-edition print of one of his rare ink paintings. Jody borrowed some paints and a canvas from his mother, and the bug bit him and his visions were realized on canvas. He painted for friends as a means to pay for his supplies and his new habit.

He graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Graphic Communication, with a Design Concentration, and an Art Minor. He remained living in idyllic San Luis Obispo for another 5 years, working for a digital print company as a production manager. During this time, he created many digital art pieces and delved into the guitar as another form of artistic expression. While having little formal art training, Jody is primarily a self-taught artist.

He moved back to L.A. in the summer of 2002 where he now resides in Silver Lake, Los Angeles with his wife and 2 cats. He's been painting for years, and is now showcasing his work in the Los Angeles area.
