I was so much interested in painting since my childhood and soon I found that I’m gifted in this field and I can’t choose any other career in the future but painting.
When I went to school, this interest showed itself more emphasized and it rose to its climax through adolescence period. This interest was noticed by some of my teachers and they encouraged me in this field as well gave me urge to move on.
Since then, I interested in car designing and devote myself to this job despite lack of possibilities as well as my parents’ support. This was a serious start knowing my own creativity in the field of art.
For high school, I chose painting, however, because of my parents’ stiff objection I couldn’t educate in this course and I continued high school in the course of natural sciences, with this hope to catch my dream – study in painting – on the university.
I spent my time copying the paintings of Iranian and other painters for a while and I felt there’s a tendency in me for Persian miniature’s smooth and wavy lines, so that I have a comfortable and pleasant sense with them. All of these were my own experiences and exploration that I was doing in this field. I would start viewing to the theme of my work as soon as obtaining proficiency in a field. I was always search for innovation in my works.
I met Mrs. Haideh Zarinbal, when I sat 17, and I continued drawing and painting professionally under her guiding and supervision. A year later, I met Mohamad Ebrahim Jaafari, and this great teacher learned me the essence and true meaning of art and how to observe the world from an artist’s point of view.
Since then, I found the direction to continue my way toward my own goal. Thence, I had become familiar with the pleasure of drawing and painting, and I was doing this as a way expressing my feelings and enjoying each moment of life.
In 1990, I was accepted in the university entrance exam with the rank of 19th, but I couldn’t afford passing high school final exams and so I went to the military service and I started my duty there as a painter. It was a good opportunity for good and exceptional experiences. Since then I started teaching drawing and painting in private.
On January, 18, 1992, I suffered from spinal damage just because a simple accident, and three spins of my neck broke and I affected afflicted with serious physical handicap.
I spent two months in hospital, and through this time I was suffering pneumonia and I experienced death for three times, however I cured miraculously. After two months I went back home with a number of big and deep bed sores.
First, I thought that continue painting with my mouth, but after a short time my hands regained some of their abilities and I could start my exercises and regaining my abilities by fixing pencil to my hand.
My wrists and fingers had no movement, so there was a need for an appropriate means offsetting this weakness. All authoritative rehabilitation centers were searched for such a tool, but nothing was found, so, we decided making such an appropriate tool, and we did it.
Just seven months after handicap, I started my classes to teach painting.
I was became a handicapped, but not only my motivation hadn’t become lesser, but also it was so much stronger and I was illustrate my new feeling and perceptions by the way of painting. Routine physiotherapy and physical activities caused that I overcome my physical limitations and continue my way by better morale.
Some years later, I decided continue my education. So, first I took my high school diploma, but because insufficient architectural possibilities and barriers like steps in the universities – which is a big barrier for handicapped people, and will be – I couldn’t continue my education in the course of painting. So, I’m always trying to enhance myself to better position than before by studying academic books and exploring works of the world’s other artists.
The outcome of painting on these years is 7 individual exhibition and contribution in excess of 32 group exhibitions and competitions.
On 2003, I chose as the Iran’s representative for the 6th Abilympic on New Delhi and there I could catch the world’s 8th rank.
On 2009, I participated on artistic competitions called “Art- Sport” performed by Iran National Olympic and Paralympic Academy, and one of my paintings chose as the superior work, and I won the first prize in the paralympic group.
On 2011, after winning the first rank on the national primary competitions, I went to South Korea for the 8th Abilympic Competitions, and I won the world bronze medal.
